Cycling
County Wicklow is famed for its stunning landscapes and coastline
and travelling by bicycle is the ideal way to explore it.
So bring your bicycle, or hire one while you're here, and
enjoy a thoroughly invigorating break. There are off-road
trails guaranteed to get your pulse racing. If cycling the
quiet country roads appeals to you, then you'll be spoilt
for choice; we have miles and miles of scenic country roads
that will take you to wonderful pubs, historic sites and quaint
little villages.
Fishing
You will never have far to travel to reach either a river,
reservoir or stretch of quiet coastline to enjoy a day's peaceful
fishing whilst savouring the tranquillity of the environment.
There are about 30 miles of coastline, peaceful riverbanks
plus a number of reservoirs from which to choose. Blessington
Lakes, which is only a 15 minutes drive from the walking centre,
is a great location for brown trout, pike, perch and roach.
Please note that a licence is required to fish any waters
other than the sea. Please ask our office for further information.
Golf
With a choice of over 25 courses, County Wicklow is blessed
with some of the most challenging and beautiful golf courses
Ireland has to offer. Miles of coastline, thousands of acres
of rugged mountains and hills, valleys, forests and woodlands
- this varied landscape allows for a wide choice, offering
seaside and traditional links courses, parkland, and breathtaking
hillside courses where you can play serious golf or just a
few rounds of holiday golf to your heart's content.
Horse Trekking
We work closely with Blessington Equestrian Centre, which
is only a few minutes drive away. Nestled in the picturesque
village of Lacken, the centre provides escorted treks through
the spectacular Wicklow countryside. The diversity of the
treks combined with the excellent AIRE approved facilities
makes it a popular choice for both experienced and beginner
